While the COVID-19 pandemic rages on, Austin is starting to show how recession-resistant it is versus other top metro areas. According to the U.S. Labor Department, the Austin metro area lost the fewest jobs during this recession compared to other metro areas, tying Salt Lake City.

"The sectors in Austin that have added the most jobs since February were financial activities (up 11.1%), professional and business services (5.9%), transportation, warehousing and utilities (2.4%) and manufacturing (2.2%)." - Austin Business Journal
