Places to meet a good mentor? How to go about it?
I've been reading alot and noticed that having a good mentor is what will help me gain knowledge that I need to be successful. My concern is where do I meet one?

@Alicia Renee, great question! I meet a lot of newer real estate investors and they are often asking this question. It is really not as hard as people think. First tip, don't ask someone you don't know to be your mentor.
This is a lot of pressure to put on someone who you have no relational capital! Instead find out who the people are in your area who are investing in real estate and try to build relationship with them. Ask to interview them for a project or ask for a 10 minute meeting in their office. I try to typically meet these people in their office first and inviting them to lunch or coffee might be too aggressive depending on the individual. I also let people know how long I want to meet them for so they don't feel like it is an open ended invitation to talk for hours!
Go to your local REIA meetings or meet ups and just get involved with the community of investors. I can tell you from the point of someone who has mentored several that most people generally want to help. I get frustrated as a mentor with the time wasters. I will typically have to feel like someone is serious and ready to take action before I will help. I usually get that feeling after a few times of this person reaching out and asking specific questions!
