Looking to buy in Coppell or surrounding areas!

Hey ya'll! I've been active in the SA forum but it looks like my full time job is going to put me up in the Dallas area (more specifically Coppell). What is the current market in that area like? I'm aware of the fact that it's a very hot area, as I'm an educator and know how great the school district is there, but any advice or knowledge would be great! I'll be renting somewhere (currently homeless at the end of this month) when I first move there but look forward purchasing sooner rather than later. In SA the MFH is much more prevalent to house hack as your first investment, but that doesn't seem to be the case in Dallas. Any suggestions on everyone first investment property in Dallas? I want to use my VA loan so I'm more than likely not able to do a cash buy or a significant rehab. I'm hoping to turn it into a rental after a year or two of living in it (and renting it out hopefully to friends). But I would love to connect with anyone in the area as well as I'm going to be getting my real estate license sometime in May!
