Gut check help! - San Antonio Rental
I just went under contract on a house just north of Lackland but feeling buyers remorse ... nervous about the rental market in this area.
Could I reasonably get $1.3k for a 3/2, 1400sqft, generally nice house? If you need any more details, happy to share. I just don't want to publish the address here.

Assuming you are buying in Lackland Terrace or Valley Hi, I think $1300/month may be tough to get. Not impossible, just higher than the norm. I just ran rental comps in these two neighborhoods for the last 24 months:
Lackland Terrace tops out about $1100/month. Valley Hi/Lackland City is topping out around $1000/month.
Of note, this area has been appreciating both in property value and rental rates over the last few years. It appears to continue to be on the rise. This area has a high rental rate, and most of these leases are filled with Craigslist posts, word of mouth, or a sign in the yard. This could scew the comps I pulled from the MLS.
