Hey guys,

A deal was recently brought to my attention. It involves section 8 housing. Does anyone in the area have experience with these? I'd love to pick some brains and/or show you the deal to see more experienced thoughts about it.

My dads house was in that area an I had it listed with section 8.  From what I remember you have to submit the house for approval.  Section 8 has a list of requirements that their homes must meet they will give that to you. You will need to  find a contractor who can make the property section 8 ready.  Your home will be inspected yearly as part of the requirements of Section 8.  I've heard good and bad about section 8 renters.  But you can have bad renters that aren't using the program.  The pro's for me were that I didn't need to chase after renters for rent because Section 8 mails it to you directly and the yearly inspections were a pro for me because I know what I need to do in the house. This was  pro for me being so far away from the property.  I end up letting the property go for other reasons (that I regret) but I hope that was helpful.
