House-Hacking a Duplex in Galveston worth it?

Hey guys,

I'm in my late 20's looking to purchase my first piece of real estate. I currently am wasting away my money paying nearly $800 in rent at an apartment. I'm not sure how much flood insurance costs on a duplex or triplex in Galveston, which would be a huge limiting factor potentially. I'm looking to purchase a duplex or triplex in Galveston because the prices are in my budget compared to the Houston real estate. Good idea? Bad idea to invest in Galveston for my primary residence? Thoughts? Thanks so much. -Rick
