Hello All! I am a new real estate investor in the Chattanooga, TN area looking to get started building a portfolio. I am currently on the hunt for a duplex to househack. I would love any and all feedback on good areas to look, people to talk to, or just general knowledge of the region. Feel free to connect!

Hey @Austin Jameson Welcome to the world of Real Estate! My biggest suggestion for finding your next deal would be to focus on building your network with Realtors, Property Managers, Wholesalers and anyone that's directly dealing with properties and sellers on a day to day basis. Yes you can still find a property the traditional way by looking on the MLS but inventory is low right now and competition is rougher than ever so your best bet would be to build a network that can provide you with a consistent flow of potential investments to look at weekly. This will take some time to do but totally worth it in the end specially if you plan on actively investing after your first house hack. You don't want to have to consistently rely on the MLS to see what the market has to offer, there's a ton of stuff going on off market too!
