Best Neighborhoods in Philadelphia / Suburbs for Buy-Hold
Hi everyone - I'm just getting started in my real estate investment journey. I live in NYC but due to prices here in the city, I'm looking to potentially invest in Philadelphia. It's close by and I actually have plenty of family in the area; so it's an ideal area for me.
To start, I'm looking for turn-key duplexes (minimal renovation/fixes are okay) for a buy & hold strategy in the price range of $150-200k. My goal is passive income, but I am obviously interested in finding neighborhoods which are growing / appreciating in value.
I'd love for some suggestions on neighborhoods in Philadelphia or nearby suburbs so I can prioritize my research.
Thanks! And if you require any additional information in order to provide a better answer, please let me know.

Hey @Kellen Thomas I'd like to back up what @Sheryl Sitman stated above. Finding things that meet that criteria are tough since almost everyone is looking for that exact same thing. You may have to sacrifice one or two aspects about that strategy to find a deal- keep the price range but go for a lower C class neighborhood or up the price range but sacrifice your potential cash flow. It's never a bad idea to start with an easy single family to learn the process and market that way you can experiment with your business on a lower risk investment in a less competitive market. Always feel free to reach out, I'm always willing to share my two cents about the market.
