DelCo Discuss- Upper Darby PA Raising Rental License?? Why??

It recently came to my attention that Upper Darby is lobbying for raising the yearly rental license fee from $86 per property per year to $135 per property per year. This is almost a 60% increase in a township that already has overinflated taxes relative to the quality of school districts.

I work with several investors in this pocket and it seems as though this is an unnecessary money grab by the township. Between the annual taxes and the stringent U&O guidelines enforced by an unwavering L&I, this seems silly. Sure, an additional $59 does not seem like a lot when you are likely spending 50-100k all in but I'm viewing this out of principle.

If anyone is looking to get this tosses out, they have scheduled a meeting for tonight. You have the opportunity to speak, you just have to register there by 6:45pm. The meeting will be at held at 100 Garrett Road, Upper Darby, PA 19082.
