Hi BP community,

I would like to know what is the latest in PDX. Are people migrating out of Portland? Rental market? Vacancies? Jobs?

Any input would be appreciated!

I'm also looking in Portland. I've been using Redfin's Data Center for macro data. The "Migration" map shows where people are moving. The greatest "outbound" migration is to Seattle, Las Vegas, and LA. This tells me that people aren't moving for cheaper rent (Las Vegas aside). Anecdotally, I've had three friends move from SF to Portland, which means California money will be coming up to the rental market for month-long rentals - think people, who have WFH jobs in the $150 K+ salary range. I WISH I had an Airbnb joint right now I could market for Covid WFH with extra desks and super reliable internet.
