Realtor help or not when starting out

Hi all,

My name is Jayson and I am in the process of looking for my first REI. I am finally ready to commit to investing in single family or multi-family homes after a couple years of apprehension. I am still educating myself and learning about this market since I only recently moved here a few years ago. As such, I think the best strategy is to utilize a realtor who deals with investors but would love to hear feedback as to how most of you got started and whether it was through a realtor providing leads or personal research. Thank you and I look forward to learning, sharing, and growing as an investor.
