Exclusive Buyer's Agency Agreement required by state of MO?

Ryan Calloway
Posted

Hey y'all,

I'm a new investor and recent transplant to St Louis. Looking an agent and am in talks with one who wants me to sign an Exclusive Buyer's Agency Agreement.

They said, "The state of MO requires this document be in place before (1) an agent has considerable info with regards to a Buyer's finances and personal information and (2) before a home is entered for a showing. The state also says that if this agreement is not in place, all agents are a sub-agent of the Seller and are obligated to represent her interests."

I've received conflicting information when I tried to verify this. Can anyone please clarify?

Thanks in advance!

Agency agreements are required in 2 of the 4 states Im licensed in, so it wouldn't surprise me.
