Good contractors: The Holy Grail!
I know I'm asking for the holiest of holies here, but does anyone have any good contractors they can recommend in STL? I just bought a duplex I need to put some work into.

Good question. I asked for at least three references from each one, a picture of a current driver’s license, and made sure they signed my contract before work started. I have my dad there to oversee everything too. One lesson I learned, although it never backfired, is don’t pay for any portion of the labor cost upfront if you’re already paying for materials!
