Fence Laws in MN
Hi Everybody,
First time post here. I had a quick question I was hoping somebody could answer. I recently bought a SFH in South Minneapolis and there is an existing fence on the property. I believe that fencing laws in MN state that if one owner wants a fence both parties need to split the cost. Does anybody know what the rules are regarding putting up a new fence over an existing fence? If I decided to put up a new fence would the neighbors on both sides be responsible for splitting the cost or because there is an existing fence are they not responsible?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You pay for the cost of putting up your fence-LOL. You'd be lucky to find a neighbor willing to share a cost. There are VERY specific regulations in Minneapolis. Here you go
