Alabama Sheriff Sale

Corey Key
Posted

Can someone please explain to me what is the difference between a tax sale deed and a sheriff's deed in the state of Alabama and is there any chance of redemption for the previous owner after one year has passed since the sale at the courthouse? Tax sale was initiated by local credit union lien and granted judgements. I new to this game trying to save a family property, get a decent understanding of the process or capture the property in some fashion for my self as one of my first transactions.

@Corey Key, Credit unions do not initiate tax sales. Local taxing authorities initiate tax sales. Sheriff's sales are executions on judgments rendered by courts that award money damages in favor of a party.  Redemption rights are VERY complicated after a sheriff's sale. They are somewhat complicated after a lender foreclosure. They can be very complicated after a tax sale.
