TAX LIEN Question/Trying to help my neighbor he is losing home
My neighbor currently owns $10k in property taxes, his court date is next month. Is there any way we can help him by buying the current tax lien? We are hopeful he will be able to pay us back but if not would we be able to foreclose on the house and rent it back to him? How would we get a hold of that specific tax lien-is that even possible?

Is there a mortgage on the property? If so, DO NOT loan your neighbor any money with him using the house as collateral. You'll be wiped out by the first mortgage holder should they foreclose. If he does not have a mortgage on the property he could list the property for sale or take out a HELOC and pay the back taxes.
