Collection Servicer and Services

For the community members that have notes, are there levels of Servicers?  For instance, I am interested in learning more about investing in notes.  While I am learning, it seems there various nuances even with regards to note investing which could take time to learn.  So for this reason, I was interested in knowing if some of the note owners in the community have varying levels of hands off approach to holding your notes.  (i.e. Focus on finding the notes, let someone else deal with getting the borrowers back to performing, let someone else deal with collections etc.)
