How to get the most accurate way to find liens
Hi everyone,
I wanted to know if anyone could point me in the correct direction when it comes to finding tax lien and code violation houses within my county? Is there a specific avenue that is used or is it different for every county? Thank you in advance for your help!

@James Baker John is correct about going to the delinquent tax department. Make sure you ask for the delinquent property tax department. There are many types of delinquent taxes.
Here are a couple of sites for MI that may be helpful:
You may have to copy and paste but both are working links. For the code violations you will go to the Tax Collectors or delinquent property tax office as well and if you don't find anything there you could go to the recorder's office. If the code violations exist because someone had to come out and cut the grass or weeds then it will be listed with the department that does the delinquent property taxes. You want to look for demolition code violations as well. These will be pricey and you want to make sure you have less into the investment than it is worth. Good luck to you. Keep us posted on your success.
