Newbie Looking to Learn Note Investing
Hi Everyone,
I would like to add note investing to my tool box by using my SDIRA. I am unsure of where to start and am looking for some guidance. I know there are some books available and some courses.
Does anyone have experience with any courses? I am not afraid to spend money on a course, but I don't want to be fleeced by one of the "guru's" @Joshua Dorkin and @Brandon Turner always warn about on the BP podcast.

Hi @Edmund Ricker and all, I've been buying NPNs in my self directed IRA for the past 4 years and getting >30% annualized ROI. I outsource all of the servicing and loss mitigation, just like I would to contractors if I was buying a property for rental. Its completely allowable @Jay Hinrichs and because there are so many third party services available, it's pretty easy to outsource and have my IRA stay at arms length on the processes.
I completely disagree with @Darren Eady's claim that NPNs are the worst SDIRA investments. To the contrary, earning only 12-14% on performing notes is pretty slim compared to the returns I earn when buying a discounted NPN and getting it to reperform. That discount at purchase really magnifies the ROI on the cashflow from the borrower's loan payments.
Edmund, feel free to PM me and I'll send you my list of resources for starting to learn about note investing and a link to my webinar I did to a group of SDIRA investors last year with provides a good overview for using your SDIRA to invest.
