Notes/ NPN Business Dying?

I have about 100-150K to invest and learn the notes business, but I have read/heard that the experienced investors are moving away from NPN as its saturated.

The note business really excites me, but I want to make sure I invest in a business that can be long term (10 yrs +). Not just a venture that will last 6 months to a  2 years.

What are some of the experienced investors outlook on the business? Is it to competitive/ saturated for the long term strategy?
