Getting back into notes/ Eddie Speed

Hello All!

I have questions specifically for those who have completed any training through Eddie Speed...

A little background on my company- we are family run and invest in multi units and do a flip here and there. We believe there is a great opportunity to make money right now on non-performing notes and are considering attending the 3 day note course from Eddie Speed.  I am aware that they will be trying to sell coaching at this class.

Important: We have bought and sold notes in the past (about 10 years ago) and have owned mortgage companies and been involved in the finance aspect of the business. Being out of the game for 10 years, and having the market change so much we are looking for some guidance and want to be smart about staying away from bad deals.

We bought to home study note course and we are finding some great and helpful information from the course. That doesn't necessarily mean that we feel ready to start buying.

Has anyone attended the 3 day training, or paid for the coaching through Eddie Speed?? My parents are looking into attending the training next month, and we want to ask opinions and see if the info there is applicable and helpful. We want the confidence to move forward and buy a NPN soon after.

Have you been provided with good information and leads? Do you feel supported? Do you feel that the investment for coaching was worth it?

I am cautious of real estate gurus, however I am not hesitant to invest in an education if it is worth it.

Thanks for your feedback!

Stefanie

Hi @Stefanie Willie-Bonglo, yes I've attended Eddie's Note School weeken boot camps and they are very informative and he and his crew will provide you some current industry info as well as tips on evaluating and buying distressed debt. There are 2 tracks, Big Money which is distressed debt and Rich Rewards which is how to buy seller carryback notes. The distressed debt weekend was much more informative and relevant to our business model.

His crew will rope you into a "private consultation" where they attempt to upsell you to the full mentoring programs, starting at $17K.  Personally I think with your background you could use those funds to buy a note and let experience take over as a teacher. Another advantage to attending their boot camps as well as the annual Note Expo event in the Fall is the networking with other note investors.

Bob
