Sheriffs deed (Texas)

Benjamin Salazar
Posted

I found a “struck off” lot that I want to purchase. On the LGBS website

Adjudged Value: $5,000.00

Est. Minimum Bid: $5,000.00

After doing some research at the county courthouse I found that it has a sheriffs deed. And that it’s owes on taxes of about 9,500 dollars. My question is if I buy it will that 9,500 be wiped off or will I have to pay for that? Also since it’s “struck off” can I just go to the courthouse and purchase it or do I have to go through the LGBS website since that’s where it’s posted? (Send letter with check to them and then they will send it to the courthouse and then they decide to accept it or not) can I just cut the middle man?
