structuring to avoid usury laws, help

I have an opportunity but afraid of triggrring usury laws or any other number of laws that can effect this deal. This is how it goes; cloent hires lawyer because they are in foreclosure. lawyer reduces the payoff from 140k to 75k. client doesnt have the money so he contacts me for the 75k. the original loan was at 8.75% so I would maintain the interest now heres the catch the loan wont be for 75k it will be for 130k, 10k less than thier original amount. so basically I will be purchasing a note that they created at a discount. please help me structure this to make this possible.
