Has anyone successfully utilized the city's ADU program?

I'm looking to buy my next primary residence in the city and want to take advantage of the city's ADU program to convert an unused space into an additional unit. I'd like to talk with someone who has gone through the process about what it was like working with the city in order to get this done.
