Has anyone successfully utilized the city's ADU program?
I'm looking to buy my next primary residence in the city and want to take advantage of the city's ADU program to convert an unused space into an additional unit. I'd like to talk with someone who has gone through the process about what it was like working with the city in order to get this done. If anyone has personal insight or knows of anyone who has gone through this process (friend, client, etc.) I'd love to connect and talk more. Much appreciated.

Hey Ian! We went through it, but then decided not to continue moving forward due to costs/expected returns. You have an initial meeting with the ADU planning team and lay out what you're looking to do. They will illustrate what needs to be done to the property. Basically, everything needs to be done to building code but zoning is the exception. From my experience was pretty seamless (this was probably 2+ years ago)
