Question regarding earnest deposits / contract help

Hey everybody!

I have a question regarding earnest deposit. I don't have money sitting around to be used as earnest deposit.  Part of the reason why I started wholesaling was that it required hustle more than money. For 5hose wholesaling in Baltimore,  what's the typical amount of money out down as an earnest deposit.

Also after getting a property under contract,  is my next step opening escrow,  or am I allowed to start marketing.
