Recovering underground basement pipes without concrete?

Eron A.
Posted

When busting up concrete in a basement to lay plumbing pipes underground, would it make sense to NOT cover those pipes up with concrete, but instead use something like this? And then use a plastic easy to remove cover to cover up the pipes, and then lay your floating floor on top of that? I think this would help with future access to the pipes?

See this photo below. The molds would be U-shaped and small, just so the pipe could fit. They would fit down in the ground, and be covered with a plastic or metal cover that was flush with the floor.
