Going From Well Water to Public Water
Have a potential deal in my pipeline. In order to make the deal work I will have to tap into the public water supply and ditch the current well water setup the house has.
Plain and simple, I am in an area where people expect public water and it is not really an option in my eyes to keep the well.
I have researched the basics of having this done and have called the local water dept to make sure I get it done in accordance with town rules.
Can anyone offer first hand experience with this upgrade? Did it add value to the house? How much did it cost altogether? Any little things or pitfalls I should be aware of?
The water line is in the street about 40-50 ft from the house itself.
Thanks!

Check to see if you can leave the existing well intact for outside watering. That is a huge plus to have free water outside and clean drinking water inside.
