Learning about renovating

My team of investors and I are working on closing on a 32 unit portfolio in Albany NY. We have an experienced team including a veteran investor who’s been in the industry for 15+ years arguably the best local property manager in town and myself. The properties themselves all need extensive work as they have been horribly neglected the last 30 years. Pipes have burst, flooring needs to be redone, boilers replaced

The investor is looking to only contribute financially and provide mentorship but mainly wants to be as hands off in managing the rehab process as possible. I’m going to be heavily involved in managing the rehab process but I also have close to zero knowledge about construction process, terminology, and general know how.

Considering I’m going to be overseeing the project I wanted to get a baseline knowledge on housing repairs so when I talk with the contractors I know what they are talking about. Does anyone have any recommendations on where to start getting my 101 education?
