Painting Remodel- Doors best practice?

When you are painting a vacant remodel project, say a house with stained trim, doors etc,. Lets assume there is hardwood floor in the house, and all doors need to be cut off at the bottom to allow room for carpet to be installed over old flooring. Also assume some of the doors stick and need to have edged sanded or planed. Hardware is being replaced as well.

The question; Do you remove the doors and set them in a seperate room / basement / garage to "repair" and paint them, or do you leave them on the frames to repair and paint. Why?

I've had to do this exact same thing on most of my rehabs, and I prefer to take the doors off. The doors are easier to paint when they're off and you can only plane the bottom when the doors are off.
