Tub\Shower Combo - Brand Recommendations

Brian Schiffer
Posted

Hi - I have a duplex with a bathroom I have gutted.  Due to restrictions I cannot go with a 1 piece.  Looking for recommendations for a middle of the road investment in a 2 piece tub\shower combo with surround.  I have read poor reviews on the Lowe's fiberglass tubs cracking, saw a youtube video of a review on a tub that had 4 solid feet on the bottom to keep it from flexing\cracking but can't find the video again?  I believe it was a Kohler Villager?  What brand do people prefer?  We plan to keep this duplex 10+years most likely so don't want to go too cheap.  The old fiberglass tub was fine but was so stained from never being cleaned that wasn't worth the effort of trying to salvage it.  When I took it out prior installer just laid a couple 2x4's under it.
