Tax Question
Hello all. When hiring a General Contractor to do work on a project, do you need him/her to fill out a 1099 form or some sort of tax form with their information? Thank you.

Contractor needs to fill out a W-9. If they're not a corporation or LLC you have to issue a 1099 to them, to be able to deduct their fee on your taxes.
