DIY Kitchen Cabinets (Newbie)
Just bought a new primary residence. Kitchen had unused space so I decided to add some kitchen cabinets. Needed to match the other side of the kitchen, so used one of the Lowe’s options (Diamond Arcadia I think it was called).
My one question is, do I remove the shims on the base cabinets after they are secured to the wall, or should they remain a permanent fixture? Floor wasn’t quite level, so the front of all base cabinets has about 3/8” gap.
Would post photos, but not sure how to do it within the app. May have to get on my laptop later to update.

leave them in. cut them back flush with an oscillating tool. then cover the gaps with a toe-kick that matches your cabinet color
