@Marsha Kellogg  Not looking to invest but just wanted to pass along I've applied with both Discover and SoFi personal loans recently.  Both were on-line and gave me an approval decision in about 30 min.

Discover to $35k and SoFi to $50k.  Unsecured loans, no fees at all, 10-12% interest rate, and funds in my checking account the next business day.  No pre-pay penalties either.

Hope that helps!
