How do I start flipping houses

Hi, I am a student who is going into post secondary. I have been interested in real estate for many many years now and I wish to make a full career out It. I have a part time job and I am saving up to buy and renovate a property. I do not have any mentors in this field and I have no idea where to go.

As I do not have much money saved up I always wanted to know how do I actually start flipping houses? What are the first steps? How does the mortgage work for short term projects? How do I find good deals? Do I need a license?

Thanks for reading this and I hope I am able to create a plan after hearing from you guys!

Education is key. You should begin with books and podcasts and take some time to get familiar with the basics. BP has some pretty great books on Amazon and there are many others that can help you get started.

Learn your local market and find an agent who understands what you're trying to do and can help you learn neighborhoods and what renovated homes should sell for. You need to know your local area very thoroughly so take time during this step.

Having a license is very helpful for flips and can save you a lot of time and money, but know that being an agent requires a good amount of upfront money (could be upwards of 1k-2k or more to get started) and ongoing fees and dues to maintain the license.
