If anyone has questions about the general contracting laws in Arizona in regards to flipping a home as a business such as. Why must I use a general contractor on my own investment property, why can’t I do whatever I want, it’s my house?

Replied

@Steven Lowe. Issued by the state. The qualifying party must apply for the license, provide verifiable work experience, references etc and pass the exam. There are ALOT of different licensed. Www.azroc.gov is a great resource. Some examples of fraud would be a “light remodel” license performing work beyond their scope. Some licenses have limits and cost different amounts and have different qualifications necessary. Like light remodel may limit you to jobs under 25K but they might engage in a full 200K remodel thereby breaking the law. Some people show up with a tile license and end up doing electrical work. No bueno. So yes, issued by the state.
