Pigtails For Aluminum Wiring

Hello everyone,

I client is asking me if pigtails for aluminium wiring are a good way to go instead of changing the whole aluminum wiring to copper on a property. I’m a Real Estate agent and have very little experience in flipping, but want to help him by answering his question.

He also wonders if inspectors note and criticize this. Again I have never heard of pigtails before, just helping out any information regarding this technique would be much appreciated it.

Thank you

@Alex Cardenas using the purple pigtails is technically acceptable in some cases, but I don't think it's a good idea.  Not only will you still be required to disclose that there is aluminum everywhere, but there is a lot of stigma around it that I don't think you want associated with your flip.

Also, the code requirements in your area may pointedly not allow it, or have very specific requirements, which is the more important piece of the puzzle.
