Flooded home that wasn’t repaired or Gutted

I’m actually not interested in flipping homes. I’m looking into personally buying a home and repairing for myself. It was never gutted or repaired. The home has been sitting for going on 4 years. I’m sure there is mold but my question is can we repair it and truly safely live in it? I’d do a lot of repairs and remodel myself, with the help of my dad. I need honest opinions as finding info on this topic has been very hard.
