Yellowing acrylic cabinets

Shawn Courtney
Posted

Hi guys, I'm working on my first flip home and found a great used kitchen with cabinets granite and appliances for a steal! My only problem is the cabinets door are acrylic and some of them are a bit yellowed. Specifically around the oven obviously from grease and a few other doors I'm assuming may be from sunlight. Just wondering if anyone here has advice on bringing back the bright white! I've tried soap and water baking soda and even bleach on one of the doors and nothing has worked so far. Or has anyone here painted acrylic cabinets with any success? Thank you for any and all advice.

We've painted many different type of cabinets with great success. They key is to prepare the surface properly to accept the paint. Pop off a door and take it to a good paint store. They should be able to give you guidance on preparing the surface and painting. Good Luck!
