Looking to learn
I am located in Cincinnati, although for this exercise I am not sure that it really matters. I have experience in the high-end residential and commercial real estate development world where I am currently employed. I manage large projects and prepare proposals currently.
Long term I would like to work for myself. I have kicked the tires, made a few offers, and generally gained some insight into the single family rehab / rental world. I realize that I am not "getting it." By that I mean that I can run the numbers, run the schedule, run the comps, etc. but I can't find the deals that I need to make it all work. Now I have only worked with the MLS here in town in terms of finding deals which is where I think my problems begin - finding the right deal.
I need to learn in a hands on, pragmatic way. I have spent hours reading these forums and the articles contained within them - a great tool. I am willing to offer my time, contacts, and abilities to anyone willing to teach me the ropes. I don't know if anyone in Cincinnati is looking for some capable help but I am offering my services in exchange for knowledge.
Feel free to message me on here. Also, any advice would be appreciated.
