Remove a wall? Open Floor plan?

So I'm currently under contract for a SFH in Hueytown, Alabama, right outside of Birmingham. It's a 3/2 at about 1,800 sqft.

The house doesn’t seem to have any major repairs other than being EXTREMELY outdated.

I am considering tearing out the (potentially load-bearing) wall separating the smallish living room from the much bigger dining room & kitchen, which would make a huge open plan and basically double the living room size.

Is it worth going through the cost and trouble of doing this? How much value could an open floor plan really add?

Thanks for any thoughts & opinions!!

*Side info... under contract for 105K and recent comps go anywhere from 100-130K and up*
