Managing laborers strategies and advice?

I'm looking for any strategies or advice about managing laborers and handymen.

I'm doing BRRRR, and I'm able to do 75% of the work myself if I choose, but of course that isn't a scalable way to operate. I want to use more labor and manage them to do the more laborious tasks.

So far, my results have been mixed. I have had some success, but half the time they don't show up. My goal was to develop a good working relationship with a couple folks and eventually be able to have them work more independently. Maybe that is the wrong approach.

I only physically work on the houses weekends and 1 half day during the week. So, I'm there 20 hours per week (more at times).

Any suggestions for managing labor, especially when you aren't hiring them to work 40 hours a week.
