How Are You Handling Profit Splitting, Salaries & Profit Reinvesting?

My Brother and I, after 11 years each in the business and about 8 years apart from partnering together (he got married and started partnering with his wife), are about to start teaming back up together and focusing on building a strong, thriving and profitable enterprise.

Our primary focus will basically be what it is now in our individual businesses: rehabbing or wholesaling discounted and distressed properties and either selling them retail or holding them as rentals.

How are you handling Profit Splitting, Salaries & Profit Reinvesting as rehabs are completed and sold (or rented and NOI is generated)?

Do you pay yourselves nice salaries?

Do you pay yourselves salaries with quarterly bonuses based on successful projects completed?

Or do you (an idea of mine) pay yourselves 50% of the net profit while reinvesting the remaining 50% back into the business for employees' salaries, operating expenses and capital investment towards future rehabs?

Also, if anyone knows, what's an appropriate salary for an Admin. Asst. in the northeast? Thanks in advance!
