Insurance on a fire damaged house

Hello BP,

I am new to this BP and have been reading alot useful information. I do have a question of my own.

I am in the midst of buying a house that was damaged by a fire 6 months ago. My concern is Insurance. Is there an issue with obtaining insurance since the house was recently in a fire? I've called a few places and they've told me that they do not insure. Has anyone encountered this and can help me with some remedies. Is it even required to hold insurance while I am doing the renovation? sorry if these questions sound amateur, its because I am. Thanks for any help.

American Modern usually does these for me.

The other option is just get a policy via State Farm from Foremost. Once they do an inspection they will send a letter letting you know they will cancel insurance in 45 days. By then your project should be done, or you can do the same thing with a different insurer.
