Long Distance Flipping/Investing

Hi All - I am new to BP so wanted to say hello. I currently live overseas and read the book written by David Greene on Long-Distance Real Estate Investing. I invest in RE in the UK in turn key properties mainly. The ROIs are not great though and Brexit is just confusing the market.

I want to start flipping in the US until I have enough cash to flip and hold to build up a rental portfolio. I have around 125K in savings and given that I live overseas, getting financings is a nightmare at the beginning. My question to the community is whether anyone applied the principles set out by David in his book? Any tips as to how to start would also be welcomed. I am not sure where to start too? Which markets will be best?

Many thanks in advance.
