Underground fuel tanks
To all RE brokers, investors and home buyers. I’m trying to get an idea on what your take is on underground fuel tanks. We recently purchased a house with one. Our intentions are to rehab and sell this house. We had it inspected and no leakage at all. Praise Jesus there! The environmental guy said due to its proximity to a large oak tree and the sandy soil he would advise leaving it only doing a clean out and seal so the tree wouldn’t have a chance to fall on the house. He would have a letter showing everything for the buyer. My question comes to the end buyer side. If the tank is still there and a we have a letter from a environmental clean up company stating all was done well and correctly would it turn off buyers because the tank is still there? I’ve never sold a house with one or represented a buyer purchasing a house with one. Other Suggestions or do what the guy says?
