Moving A front Door ON A BRICK HOUSE

Why go through the trouble of moving a front door, especially on a double brick wall building? Maybe it won't be worth it, but in my case it was. After much thought and much planning, I was able to add an additional bedroom to my 2 bedroom unit. Though one problem, the front door was now in my bedroom. The decision had been made to move the front door.

Now please note, I am no construction expert, nor a very good handyman, but with the help of my best friend (demo guy) and my brother (a mason) I was able to conquer this project in just 16 hours. We were able to use the existing door and jam and place it into the new door cutout that my brother concrete sawed out. I bought a new window and put it in the old door space, bricking up the remainder.

The door project cost me around $1,000, but my new bedroom is bringing in $450 a month. Thats a 540% return on my investment.

So even when there is a daunting task in front of you, use your resources and look at the potential profit to come.
