I am a newbie to real estate investing. I have capital, I have time, a humble mind to listen and learn. Looking for a great mentor who understands helping someone reach their goal opens the door for many more opportunities for themselves. Also, looking for general contractor recommendations as well. I live in Chicago, IL and want to invest in this city. Thank you for your time in advance in this forum.

Hold on to the money at the moment - What are your goals? Flip? Buy and hold? If you want to flip, how many do you want to do a year? Are you aware of the tax implications?

Just asking these questions to get you thinking. If you want to flip, read guides, how to's, experience from flippers, study them all. Like anything, go in prepared and get better with practice. It would be awesome if you met someone in Chicago in this post who you could work with. But for now, I cannot stress enough how important reading and studying the business it - learn everything from the business side to the team building to locating and pricing out a job, contracts, running comps in the area, improving appropriately, and moving on it fast
