How to get out of a flip agreement with contractor and project ma

Help. I purchased a property in NJ and I live in NY thru someone I met. The property is in bad shape and needs a guy Reno. We have a joint venture agreement that he will manage the renovation for a percentage of the profit. Things are not going well. The contractor, after signing the agreement and getting $10k says that the project manager agreed to removing all items left by tenants and owners. So now he wants additional money. I am feeling like they are both scamming me but I don't know what to do about it.
