Websites & other sources for rehab

Hi guys,

I have to admit, I have very limited knowledge about rehabbing, or even DIY housework. I've never been a homeowner before so I never had to do any maintenance, or check houses, or discuss with contractors. Therefore, for someone like me, who's starting from level 0, what are the best websites / sources of info that teach about that subject? If they are REI-oriented, it's even better (better than Lowe's or Home depot websites for eg.)

Subjects that I would like to research are for eg: general knowledge of a house's construction (roof, walls, etc), difference between each types of products, value added of each type, and also how to install them, etc.. Anyway that can help me start the journey!

(please note, I don't intend to do heavy rehab work to flip houses, I'm more interested at understanding and identifying the basics of maintenance work, capex work, home inspection/check)

Thanks!
