Cat Pee in the Unfinished Basement
We bought a house a couple months ago where the prior owner had cats. We thought we could get rid of the smell with a good cleaning and we thought wrong. I'm at my wits end and it is affecting me having such a horrible smell in the house. The cats sprayed and had their boxes in the basement that is unfinished. The block walls were painted a long time ago with white paint but are currently flaking off. We tried: 3 different types of enzyme cleaners that had good reviews, water and vinegar, soap, essential oils, lots of scrubbing, cleaned our air ducts, and most recently an odor sealer on the floor that dries clear. The smell had dispersed more for a while, but with the last several cooler days...it's back with a vengeance! I'm pulling my hair out not knowing what to do. I'm sure its seeped into the concrete and very likely the walls. But how high on the walls could the cats actually get?? We need help...bad!!
